SPRAVATO® is a prescription medicine, used along with an antidepressant taken by mouth, for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) in adults.

JC Center is one of the few certified Spravato® treatment centers in the Macomb County area, serving Sterling Heights, Troy, Utica, Shelby Township, and surrounding communities.

Is Spravato® right for you?

You may be a candidate if you are an adult with major depressive disorder, you have tried two or more antidepressants at adequate doses without sufficient relief, and you are under the care of (or willing to establish care with) a psychiatric provider. During your evaluation, we review your treatment history and discuss whether Spravato® fits your care plan.

What to expect at a treatment visit

Spravato® is always taken in our office under supervision - never at home. You self-administer the nasal spray, then relax in a comfortable, private space while our clinical team monitors you for about two hours. Because the medication can cause temporary drowsiness or dizziness, you will need someone to drive you home. Most patients begin with two visits per week, tapering to weekly or every other week as symptoms improve.

Insurance and cost

Most major insurance plans, including many Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, and Priority Health plans, cover Spravato® for eligible patients. Our staff handles the prior authorization process for you.

For referring physicians
